On behalf of the University of Craiova, we are delighted to invite you to participate in the International Higher Education Summit – The Union of Skills in Action: AI, Internationalisation and the Future of European Higher Education, incorporating the Erasmus+ International Staff Week, to be held in Craiova, Romania, from 14 to 18 September 2026.

Conveniently scheduled immediately after the EAIE Conference and Exhibition in Glasgow (8–11 September 2026), the Summit provides an ideal opportunity for colleagues attending EAIE to continue their international engagement by joining us in Craiova for another week dedicated to cooperation, innovation and partnership development. This timing allows participants to maximise their visit to Europe while expanding their professional networks and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.

The Summit will bring together university leaders, academics, researchers, policymakers, representatives of European University Alliances, Erasmus+ professionals and international relations specialists from Europe and beyond to exchange ideas, strengthen partnerships and contribute to shaping the future of higher education.

Inspired by the European Commission's priorities on the Union of Skills, this year's programme will explore how universities can prepare future generations through innovation, artificial intelligence, international cooperation and strategic partnerships.

The Summit will address key topics including:

• Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education;

• Internationalisation Strategies and Global Engagement;

• The Future of European University Alliances (ACROSS);

• The European Degree and Microcredentials;

• Erasmus+ Innovation and Mobility;

• Building Sustainable International Partnerships;

• The Future of European Higher Education.

Participants will enjoy a dynamic programme combining high-level keynote speeches, thematic panel discussions, interactive workshops, the Erasmus+ International Staff Week, networking sessions, partnership matchmaking and an International Exhibition, where universities will showcase their projects, programmes and collaboration opportunities.

Beyond the academic programme, the Summit will also offer a unique opportunity to discover the culture and hospitality of the Oltenia region through carefully designed social and networking activities, including:
