The Scientific Advisory Council (SAC) is a permanent collegial advisory body for the coordination of the activities of all university units, which determines the main directions of scientific and methodological work on issues of increasing the efficiency and quality of higher education and improving the educational process on issues of higher education, scientific foundations of organisation and educational process management, modern technologies, forms and methods of education, improvement of pedagogical skills of scientific and pedagogical workers of the university.
Tasks of the Scientific Advisory Council:
- determination of the main areas of scientific and methodological support of the educational process at the university, improvement of the content of higher education taking into account the trends of the development of the national education system, generalisation and introduction of progressive educational technologies;
- development of scientific and methodological support for the implementation of the credit transfer system for the organisation of the educational process and new educational programmes for the training of specialists, the implementation of the new law "On Higher Education" and other instructional and regulatory documents of the Ministry of Education and Science on the organisation and methodical support of the educational process;
- development of implementation methods of advanced educational and new information technologies;
- submission (production) of proposals for updating the university's regulatory and legal documents on the organisation of the educational process;
- examination of curricula of all educational levels for compliance with their developed educational programmes;
- analysis of new pedagogical technologies and methods of training young people and development of methods for their implementation;
- generalisation and dissemination of the experience of organising educational and methodological work of institutes, faculties, departments and leading domestic and foreign higher educational institutions;
- development of proposals for plans and programmes for professional development and retraining of teachers in order to increase the efficiency of the educational process, recommendations for improving the organisation of methods of independent and individual students’ work.
The Head of the Scientific Advisory Council of the university is the First Vice-rector.
Leading experts and scientists who work at departments and other structural units of the university are involved in the work of the Scientific Advisory Council.
The work of the Council is carried out on the basis of the annual plan.
The regularity of Council meetings is the 3rd Thursday of the month.
In its activities, the Scientific Advisory Council is accountable to the Academic Council of the university. Control over the activities of the Scientific Advisory Council is carried out by the Vice-rector (a person appointed by him) in accordance with the work plans of the scientific and methodical work and internal university control.
