Inclusion in the UNESCO heritage list significantly raises the status of the university, accordingly, the requirements for the level of the educational process, the quality of scientific research, and the increase in the possibility of international cooperation between Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University and UNESCO within the framework of the "Universities and UNESCO" Forum.

The new status of the object, which received world recognition, requires changes, adjustments and improvement of the management system of the object of world cultural heritage. There is an urgent need to transform the existing system of operation of the facility and the surrounding area (courtyard, park), restoration work, optimization of excursion services, creation of tourist infrastructure, etc.

This required the creation of the UNESCO Site Management Centre at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University for the purpose of appropriate organizational support, planning, management and control over the implementation of planned activities.
