The International Office (IO) of Chernivtsi National University is an information and analytical centre focused on analytical activities that determine the development, expansion and strengthening of international relations and the authority of Chernivtsi National University in the world community. At the same time, it is a coordinating structural unit of the entire university, created for the development and implementation of the strategy of internationalisation, expansion and deepening of international relations, promotion of the development of international cooperation in the field of education and science.
The activities of the department are carried out in the following main directions:
- academic and scientific cooperation with foreign educational institutions and research organisations;
- establishing and maintaining relations with diplomatic missions of other states;
- assistance to students and employees of the university in participating in international programmes;
- involvement of foreign students in education;
- invitations to the work of academics, research scientists from universities of other countries;
- coordination of the work of faculties, institutes, departments and other structural divisions of CHNU to improve the effectiveness of international contractual relations with foreign partners;
- international cooperation in cultural and sports spheres;
- provision of services related to the reception of foreign specialists and students at CHNU, as well as the travel abroad of scientific-pedagogical, administrative employees and university students within the framework of contractual relations with partner universities or within the framework of grants allocated by international organisations;
- organisation of students' language practice abroad;
- organisation of mobility of scientific-pedagogical and administrative staff and students;
- preparation, processing, collection of data on international programmes, funds, donor organisations;
- search for foreign partner universities;
- reception of foreign guests and delegations;
- advertising of the university abroad;
- development and implementation of innovative projects;
- development and implementation of international agreements;
- participation in international forums, conferences, seminars;
- participation in international programmes and projects involving grants;
- participation of the university in international university and student associations.
