The work programme of the folk amateur orchestra of modern instrumental music "Barvy Karpat" is aimed at full-time students of various age categories, taking into account the class of the musical instrument, the level of musical literacy and education, performance skills and experience of working in ensembles of the orchestral genre before entering the educational institution of each of members of the creative team, as well as taking into account the specifics of the educational institution and the level of its material and technical base.
On July 15, 2011, by order of the Culture Department of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration, the amateur orchestra of modern instrumental music "Barvy Karpat" of the Bukovyna State Financial and Economic University (BSFEU) was awarded the title of "People's Amateur" collective.
In March 2015, the orchestra confirmed the title of "People's".
The main goal and main directions of work are: further development and improvement of performance skills, both of the collective as a whole and of each of its participants; promotion of raising the level of musical culture, general cultural and aesthetic levels of participants; promoting the active participation of team members in the cultural and social life of the educational institution, the city and the region.
Today, the group's repertoire includes about 30 (various in terms of content and forms) musical works (repertoire is attached).
The material and technical base of the Leisure Centre (CCL) allows the expansion of the orchestra at the expense of musical instruments that are on the balance sheet of the Centre, as well as at the expense of the collective members' own instruments, proving the perspective of the orchestra of modern instrumental music "Barvy Karpat".
