On 13 September, the Red Hall of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University hosted a celebration of the Day of Physical Culture and Sports. Before the event, all those present observed a minute of silence in memory of the Heroes who gave their lives in the struggle for the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The event was attended by representatives of local authorities, academics and sports figures, including Roman Hreba, Chief of Staff of the Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration, President of the Ukrainian Federation of Student Sports, Oksana Hryniuk, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration, Ivan Heshko, Head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration, Ruslan Biloskurskyi, Rector of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, and Korneliy Zhukotynskyi, Head of the Chernivtsi regional branch of the Committee on Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and Yaroslav Zayachuk, head of the local branch of the Ukrainian Federation of Student Sports NGO.
During the event, outstanding specialists in the field of physical education and sports, including our teachers, were awarded. They received letters of appreciation from the Ukrainian Federation of Student Sports:
- Olena Moroz, PhD in Physical Education and Sports, Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Physical Education and Health Fundamentals;
- Oleksandra Tsybaniuk, EdD, Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Education and Sports;
- Yaroslav Halan, PhD in Physical Education and Sports, Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Education and Sports;
- Yaroslav Zorii, EdD, Prof. of the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Education and Sports;
- Ruslan Biloskurskyi, Rector of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.
According to the results of the XX Regional Universiade among the students of HEIs of Chernivtsi region, Chernivtsi National University won the first place in the team competition.
They were awarded diplomas of the Chernivtsi Regional Department of the Committee on Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine:
- Lidiia Dotsiuk, DMSc, Prof., Head of the Department of Physical Rehabilitation, Ergotherapy and Premedical Care;
- Serhii Dariichuk, PhD in Pedagogy, Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Physical Culture and Health Fundamentals;
- Maryna Tivelik, Asst. of the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Education and Sports.
