On 20 November, the “Chernivtsi” Cinema hosted a celebration of International Students' Day. As part of the event, the city mayor presented awards to the best students of Chernivtsi, six of whom are students of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, who have distinguished themselves with high academic achievements and active social activities.
Among the award winners:
- Anastasiia Savchuk, 4th year student of the Faculty of Philology;
- Anton Kryzhanovskyi, 2nd year student of the Institute of Biology, Chemistry and Bioresources;
- Iryna Tkachenko, 4th year student of the Faculty of Architecture, Construction and Decorative and Applied Arts;
- Nataliia Zakhariuk, 3rd year student of the Faculty of Philology;
- Karina Holovachova, 4th year student of the Faculty of Economics;
- Daria Pylypiuk, a student of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Rehabilitation;
- Andrii Shtefanchuk, 6th year student of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations.
The event was complemented by a colourful cultural programme. The “Mask” theatre studio of the University's Student Culture and Leisure Centre presented humorous performances in the style of the “League of Laughter”. The dance group “Dotyk” (The Touch) performed an emotional performance, the staff of the Department of Music “Folkmodern” impressed the visitors with their performance too, and the evening ended with the presentation of the song “Vdoma” (At Home) by the band Antytila in the duet of Taras Diyakoniuk and Anton Kryzhanovskyi. Their performance created an atmosphere of unity and gave the guests a boost of patriotism.
The city mayor emphasised the importance of students as a driving force for change in society and thanked the young people for their contribution to the development of the community and the country.
