On 20 January, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University hosted a working meeting between the university rector Ruslan Biloskurskyi and the representative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in Chernivtsi region, Iryna Isopenko.

During the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the representative of the Ombudsperson in Chernivtsi region and Chernivtsi National University. The purpose of this document is to coordinate efforts in the development and implementation of scientifically based mechanisms for ensuring and protecting human and civil rights and freedoms.

After the signing of the Memorandum, Iryna Isopenko attended a meeting of the University Administration, where she presented the main activities of the Representative Office. She spoke about the current initiatives, in particular, to provide assistance to prisoners of war and children illegally detained by the aggressor state and who have not yet been returned to Ukraine.

The signing of this Memorandum is an important step in expanding the university's cooperation with state institutions in the field of human rights protection and the implementation of human rights initiatives at the regional level.
