Breaking stereotypes together

When did you get to know another culture? How did it happen? How did you feel? And are you ready to repeat this experience? The participants of the training "Intercultural Dialogue: From Stereotypes to Understanding", organised by the International Office within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA2 project "International Students Adaptation and Integration/INTERADIS", started with these and other questions.

The participants of the training, who are students of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, actively worked in groups and introduced each other to a wide audience. Together with the trainer Nataliia Nechaeva-Yuriichuk, they worked on stereotypes, identified pain points, and tried to break them down through interactive exercises such as "Pair of Words" and "Starting Point".

Brainstorming, group work, and individual self-presentations made the training dynamic and interesting. The subsequent work on identifying the causes of conflicts and learning about various strategies for overcoming and resolving them allowed us to return to our own experiences and understand the other through frank communication.

The participants' reflections showed the importance of the topic discussed and their readiness to continue working together on themselves and creating a space free of stereotypes.
