The admission process for international students in Ukraine has drastically changed. Now, you are applying on your own via the single national system. Please, get acquainted with the information below:

 

YURIY FEDKOVYCH CHERNIVTSI NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

 

According to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated June 28, 2024, No. 758 “Certain Issues of Admission and Education (Internship) in Institutions of Vocational (Vocational-Technical), Professional Pre-Higher, and Higher Education of Ukraine for Foreigners and Stateless Persons,” and the Admission Procedure for Higher Education in 2025, approved by the Order dated February 10, 2025, No. 168, the Procedure for Organizing Admission to Vocational (Vocational-Technical), Professional Pre-Higher, and Higher Education Institutions of Ukraine and the Education (Internship) of Foreigners and Stateless Persons using the Unified Interdepartmental Information System of Ukraine for Foreigners and Stateless Persons (UIMS) has been established. This system is intended for those who wish to study at vocational (vocational-technical), professional pre-higher, and higher education institutions in Ukraine.

 

Accordingly, foreign citizens who wish to enroll in the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University in 2025 MUST complete the following steps before taking entrance examinations in the form of an interview:

1) Prepare the following documents:

§     A document confirming the degree (level) of education obtained abroad, based on which admission will be carried out, and its supplement;

§     An academic transcript issued by a foreign/Ukrainian vocational (vocational-technical), professional pre-higher, or higher education institution (in case of transfer or resumption of studies starting from the second year);

§     A passport document of the foreigner or a document proving stateless person status;

§     A colored digitized facial image.

THE DOCUMENTS MENTIONED IN THE FIRST AND SECOND PARAGRAPHS OF THIS SECTION MUST BE CERTIFIED IN THE COUNTRY OF THEIR ORIGIN IN A MANNER OFFICIALLY USED IN THAT COUNTRY FOR SUCH CERTIFICATION (CONSULAR LEGALIZATION, INCLUDING LEGALIZATION BY THE RELEVANT FOREIGN INSTITUTION OF UKRAINE, OR AFFIXING AN APOSTILLE FOR COUNTRIES THAT ARE PARTIES TO THE CONVENTION ABOLISHING THE REQUIREMENT OF LEGALIZATION FOR FOREIGN PUBLIC DOCUMENTS), EXCEPT FOR DOCUMENTS ISSUED IN UKRAINE.

2) Visit the Unified Interdepartmental Information System of Ukraine for Foreigners and Stateless Persons at https://apply.studyinukraine.gov.ua/, create an account, and provide the necessary personal information and contact details.

3) Upload scanned copies of the prepared documents to the corresponding sections of the system in the UIMS account.

4) Select the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University and the desired university educational program.

5) Fill out the electronic application form, specifying personal details, the chosen educational program, and other necessary information, then submit the application.

6) Pay the established registration fee or other required payments through available payment systems.

7) Wait for electronic approval from the university.

8) After receiving a positive decision, obtain an official invitation for study.

The working languages of the Unified Interdepartmental Information System of Ukraine are Ukrainian and English.

Admission to Higher Education Institutions of foreigners and stateless persons is carried out in accordance with the Laws of Ukraine "On Higher Education", "On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons", "On Ukrainians Abroad", "On Refugees and Persons in Need of Additional or of Temporary Protection", by the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated June 3, 1994 No. 271 "On measures to develop economic cooperation of the regions of Ukraine with adjacent regions of the Republic of Belarus and administrative-territorial units of the Republic of Moldova" (except for entrants from the Republic of Belarus), by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated September 12, 2018 No. 729 "Issues of obtaining higher education by certain categories of persons", by order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated November 1, 2013 No. 1541 "Some issues of organization of recruitment and training (internship) of foreigners and stateless persons", registered in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine November 25, 2013 according to No. 2004/24536, by order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated December 2, 2019 No. 1498 "On approval of the Procedure for setting quotas for obtaining higher education by foreigners and stateless persons within the scope of the state order in accordance with international treaties of Ukraine" registered with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on February 10, 2020 under No. 153/34436.

Admission of foreign entrants to study at the expense of physical/legal entities can be carried out:

  • twice a year, before and at the beginning of the academic semesters (but no later than November 30 and March 1, respectively), for obtaining Bachelor's and Master's degrees;
  • during the year (from September 1 to May 30) to study at preparatory courses for foreign citizens;
  • during the year for postgraduate studies, doctoral studies.
