Activity
The Main Information and Telecommunications Centre is a structural subdivision of ChNU.
In its activities, the Centre is governed by the Constitution of Ukraine, laws of Ukraine, resolutions of the Supreme Council of Ukraine, legal acts of the President of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the university Statute, this provision and other legal acts of Ukraine.
The Main Information and Telecommunications Centre ensures the organization of the university's work in the field of information and telecommunications technologies to ensure educational, scientific and educational processes.
The functions of the Centre include:
- ensuring the fulfillment of the requirements of regulatory documents relating to the activities of the university in the field of information and telecommunication technologies;
- monitoring of the state and maintenance of the university's optical fiber network;
- implementation of organizational measures aimed at increasing the efficiency of the university's information and telecommunications network and monitoring the condition of active equipment;
- interaction with system developers for automating educational and scientific processes "digital university";
- organizing training of university employees in the basics of working in the information and telecommunications system and providing advisory assistance on the activities of units in this system;
- technical support of websites of the university, faculties, departments and other structural divisions of the university;
- organization of e-mail functioning of university employees: provision or change of username and password for e-mail access;
- organization of access of university employees and students to the Internet;
- accounting and allocation of IP addresses to university units;
activities in the field of protection of the information and telecommunication network of the university against unauthorized access from the outside; - accounting of incoming/outgoing traffic of network users;
- administration of local networks of university buildings;
- technical support of elements of the distance learning system;
- preparation of various reference materials on the activities of the university in the field of information and telecommunication technologies for the governing bodies of the country, the region and the university.
The Centre has the right to:
- to receive, in the prescribed manner, the necessary information and materials for the performance of its functions from all units and services of the university;
- to involve in necessary cases (in agreement with the university management) specialists who work at the university and other organizations to carry out the Department's activities in the field of information and telecommunication technologies;
- to submit proposals for improving the efficiency of the Centre's work for consideration by the management.
The Centre is responsible for:
- the timely and high-quality performance of all work and activities related to the tasks and functions of the Centre;
- the quality and efficiency of office management related to the functions of the Centre;
- the implementation of the rules and norms of labour protection, industrial sanitation and man-made and fire safety.
