The publishing house "Ruta" of ChNU was founded in 1992 on the basis of the copying and reproduction laboratory. In the context of the historical past, the printing press at the university has been operating since 1947. Since 1996, it has been operating as part of three departments: literary and editorial, computer and publishing, and printing.
During the calendar year, "Ruta" produces more than 300 titles of book products: monographs, textbooks, teaching aids, scientific bulletins, scientific presentation publications, materials of international and all-Ukrainian conferences, dissertation abstracts, reference publications, etc.
The Publishing House of ChNU is registered by the State Committee for Information Policy, Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine and entered into the state register of publishing entities, publishers, manufacturers and distributors of publishing products (series of DK No. 891 dated 04/08/2002). The structure of the Publishing House includes: Literary and Editorial Department, Computer and Publishing Department, Printing Department.
Activity
The main tasks of the Publishing House are:
- preparation for the release and release of thematic collections of scientific papers, lecture texts, training manuals, methodological instructions and recommendations;
- publication of scientific and methodical literature in accordance with modern requirements of technical aesthetics;
- organization of methodical assistance to authors in preparation of manuscripts for publication;
- execution of various polygraphic works related to the nature of the Publishing House's activity;
- control over the distribution of educational and methodological products of the university.
The procedure for making original layouts involves:
- consideration of originals at a meeting of the department, faculty council regarding the need for publication;
- registration by authors (responsible editors) of orders for inclusion them in the annual publication plan;
- consideration of orders by the Editorial Boards and Editorial and Publishing Council of the university and their inclusion in the annual and long-term plans of publications;
- formation of long-term and annual plans of publications, their approval by the Editorial Board of the university;
- transfer of publication materials by authors (responsible editors) to the Publishing House in accordance with the requirements of the computer version of the manuscript;
- production of original layouts and their transfer to the production of circulation together with calculations, invoices, where necessary.
The procedure for producing editions.
Orders for the production of publications are sent to the Printing House together with the original layout. The order is signed by the author(s), responsible for the issue (Head of the Department), Head of the Methodical Council of the faculty, Chief Editor.
Orders specify the language, volume, circulation, and format of the printed edition. An order for the production of a print run is signed only for works included in the university's publication plan.
The Publishing House is responsible to the customer for the exact reproduction of the publishing original, compliance with the requirements regarding the quality of the execution of each copy of the publication in the ordered edition, state and interstate standards of technical conditions and other normative documents.
The Publishing House has no right, without the customer's permission, to transfer to anyone the printed edition of the publication or its part, the Publishing House's original layouts, photos or printing forms. Production of an additional edition without the permission of the customer is not allowed.
The Publishing House carries out mandatory state mailing of control copies of each publication.
