Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University is an educational and scientific institution where a full-fledged student life flourishes. It is impossible to imagine it without student dormitories, because as they say: "Whoever has not lived in a dormitory, has not experienced the real student life."

The university possesses its own campus with 7 dormitories with a total of 2,800 beds. Dormitories of several types: corridor and 2-room blocks of improved type for students and graduate students.

Adequate social and living conditions for comfortable living of students have been created in the dormitories. The rooms are equipped with the necessary furniture: beds, bedside tables, a table and chairs. Each dormitory has comfortable lobbies, kitchens, sanitary and hygienic facilities, rooms for study and recreation. Priority allocation of a place in the dormitory is given to out-of-town students who belong to privileged categories (orphan students, participants in hostilities, children of members of the armed forces, students with special needs, students from large families and persons who suffered as a result of the Chernobyl disaster and persons who are registered as internally displaced), to foreign students and student families. Other categories of students get places in the dormitories if they are available, but priority is given to students from low-income families.

The allocation of places in the dormitories is carried out in accordance with the Regulation "About the Campus of the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University". The head of the Student Council and the Student Union of the faculty/institute, together with the deputy dean/director for educational work, form lists of residents, according to the needs of out-of-town students who need housing. Lists are published on the university's website.

There is a Student Council in the dormitories, which ensures an active student life. Many activities of an intellectual, entertainment and sports nature are held.
