On January 12, advanced training courses for academic staff on the programme “Innovative Practices as a Tool for Developing the Potential of Educational Stakeholders” commenced at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.
The course is taught within an approved university ECTS 2-credit (60-hour) programme and is aimed at developing the innovative potential of professors, shaping modern academic culture, enhancing the professor’s HR brand, digital flexibility, and mentoring abilities.
On the first day of the course, Vice Rector of Research and Pedagogy Work and Academic Activities Tetiana Fedirchyk gave the participants a congratulatory speech. The courses were opened by the rector of CHNU, Ruslan Biloskurskyi. During a presentation followed by a discussion, he introduced the topic— “Academic Culture of the University: The Person at the Centre of the HEI Ecosystem and Transformations”—and highlighted the importance of a professor as a key subject of changes in the educational system, valuable principles of a university’s community, and strategic directions of the development of the institution.
Nataliia Filipchuk, the associate professor at the Department of Business and Human Resource Management, was the second speaker of the day and presented a lecture with practical components on the topic “Professor as an HR Brand: Self-Marketing and Reputation Management in the Academic Environment”. The participants learnt about tools for developing a personal professor brand, strategies of self-marketing, and ways to manage professional reputation in a modern academic environment.
Throughout the week, participants of the course will have the chance to learn from the leading managers and academic staff of the university.
The course programme covers the topics of innovative technology in education, social and emotional learning (SEL), mentoring, development of soft skills, and the use of artificial intelligence and digital tools in teaching. It also provides opportunities for hands-on group projects and presentations.
The courses are expected to go on until January 18 and conclude with a final group presentation “Opportunities for Applying Innovative Practices in the University Educational Setting”.
