On January 15, the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University hosted a presentation of the analytical publication “University 2030: Development Model”, prepared within the framework of the Polish-Ukrainian project “Innovative University and Leadership”.
The publication is dedicated to strategic approaches to the development of universities until 2030 and covers key aspects of the transformation of higher education: the university’s mission, governance, academic policy, interaction with society and international positioning.
Ruslan Biloskursky, the rector of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of a strategic vision for the development of the university, strengthening academic leadership and forming a modern university model capable of meeting the challenges of the present and the future.
The presentation at the ChNU was opened by Taras Finikov, PhD in History, President of the ICF "International Foundation for Educational Policy Research", Coordinator of the Polish-Ukrainian Project "Innovative University and Leadership", Professor at the University of Warsaw. In his speech, he outlined the ideology of the publication, its conceptual principles and significance for the formation of strategic thinking of modern universities in the context of global and social challenges. The presentation included a number of reports dedicated to the strategic dimensions of the development of the university of the future.
Olga Hrynkevich, Doctor of Economics, Professor at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, in her speech opened the topic "Mission and strategies of the university of the future. Variability of strategies. Academic policy", focusing on the diversity of development models and the role of academic policy in the context of transformations of higher education.
The issue of interaction between higher education institutions and the social environment was outlined by Taras Rak, Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor, Head of Educational Programs at the IT STEP University. He revealed the content of the topic “University and Society: Mutual Influence and Cooperation”, emphasizing the importance of partnership with communities, business and state institutions.
The integration of Ukrainian universities into the global academic space was discussed in the report of Tetiana Stepura, Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Lviv Polytechnic National University, dedicated to the topic “University Inclusion in the Global Professional and Scientific Environment”. The speaker emphasized the importance of international mobility and participation in global scientific networks.
The presentation continued at the Bukovyna State Medical University, where the discussion was expanded with new analytical perspectives.
Serhiy Fedonyuk, Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, spoke about “The Place of the University in Global Scientific and Technological Trends,” outlining the role of higher education institutions in global innovation processes.
The human dimension of university development became central in the speech of Teodozia Yatsyshyn, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor at Ivano-Frankivsk National University of Oil and Gas. She spoke on the topic “University as a Space for the Development of Students and Staff,” emphasizing the importance of supporting the academic community and developing human capital.
Aspects of governance and digital change were considered in the report of Oleh Lahodnyuk, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Deputy Rector for Information Systems and Technologies of the Ukrainian Catholic University, dedicated to the topic “Management Framework and Digital Transformation of the University.”
Financial mechanisms for sustainable development of universities were outlined by Volodymyr Stefinin, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, focusing on the provisions of “University Financing. Diversification. Transparency. Sustainability”.
The presentation of the publication “University 2030: A Development Model” became a platform for professional dialogue on the future of Ukrainian higher education and the role of universities in shaping the knowledge society.
