The most awaited restoration of the ceiling, vaults and arches of one of the most magnificent halls in Ukraine - the Marble Hall of the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University (former Residence of the Metropolitans of Bukovina and Dalmatia) has been completed. 

The restoration was carried out with the funds of a grant from the US Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Heritage Preservation (AFCP Fund), which was won by the university in 2021. Unfortunately, the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine temporarily suspended the implementation of the aforementioned project and the restoration work was completed in September 2025. 

We are pleased to announce that the faculty staff community and students of the university will celebrate the 150th anniversary of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University in the renovated Marble Hall - a hall where planty of significant events took place, and to where emperors and kings, presidents, prime ministers, chairmen of the Verkhovna Rada, ambassadors and representatives of foreign missions of Ukraine and different countries of the world, public and political figures and the cultural and artistic elite have been as visitors.     

On September 22 at 12 a.m., the grand opening of the renovated Marble Hall will take place in the Marble Hall.
