The Creation of the UNITA Project Office at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University!

Expanding the possibilities of project and grant activities is extremely important in the context of the implementation of innovative ideas, the active development of scientific potential, and the involvement of higher education seekers and employees of CHNU in mobility programmes.

For more than a year, our university has been actively involved in various forms of cooperation, and since June 2022 it is the only one in Ukraine to become an Associate Member of the UNITA Alliance of European Universities. It is worth noting that the Alliance includes 12 universities (two each from France, Romania, Italy, Spain and Portugal and one Associate Member each from Switzerland and Ukraine).

The management of the university has repeatedly participated in various events, during which strategic decisions were made regarding the urgent tasks of the Consortium's operation and ways of finding effective opportunities for popularizing the scientific and educational potential. The close cooperation of the universities of the Consortium makes it possible to involve in joint coordination work both scientific and pedagogical employees of the university, as well as employees of the Scientific Research Department and the International Office.

For all the purposes listed above the "UNITA Project Office" was created by order of the Rector. It is headed by Iryna Horokholinska – UNITA Office Coordinator, Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Studies.

On April 4, at the initiative of the Vice-Rector for Research – Andrii Samila, the first working meeting of the Project Office team with the coordinators of scientific Hubs took place. The advantages and possibilities of cooperation both in the near future and further perspectives were discussed, in particular the beginning of submitting applications for mini-grants within the UNITA – Starting Grants, as well as the unification within the Hubs into research groups for the preparation of applications for Horizon Europe programmes. In addition, attention was focused on certain risks that may befall Ukrainian researchers, given some limitations associated with the aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine and certain procedural points that Ukraine overcomes on the way to European integration.
