On 9 May, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University hosted the closing ceremony for the educational and awareness-raising project "Weekend University Day 2026", which had brought participants together over several months to focus on learning, personal development and new experiences.
It is pleasing to note that this project is now being run for the second time, attracting an ever-growing number of people keen to experience what it’s like to be a student!
Iryna Osovska, Vice-Rector for Academic and Pedagogical Affairs, International and Humanitarian Activities, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. In her speech, she congratulated the participants on the completion of the project and thanked them for their enthusiasm, perseverance and interest in acquiring new knowledge.
The project organiser, Viktoria Horobets, a specialist in the Communications and Branding Department, also addressed the guests. She noted that during the implementation of the ‘Weekend University’, participants had embarked on a truly rich and rewarding journey, filled with new acquaintances, discoveries, lectures, practical sessions and memorable moments. Special thanks were extended to everyone who contributed to the creation and delivery of the project – the university’s ambassadors.
During the event, attendees were shown a video report bringing together the fondest memories and most memorable moments of "Weekend University Day 2026".
A highlight of the event was the presentation of certificates to participants for successfully completing the project. The atmosphere was filled with genuine emotion, smiles and pride in the journey they had undertaken.
To round off the event, there was a prize draw organised by the project’s partners and sponsors — "Joy Market", "Brushme", "Svit Matrats", "Pero" café and Smartcinema" — which gave participants even more positive experiences and added to the festive atmosphere.
"Weekend University Day 2026" has become not only an educational project but also a space for development, communication and inspiration, which will leave all its participants with fond memories!
