On 29 March, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University held an Open Day. Prospective students and their parents had the opportunity to see the university’s educational facilities for themselves, learn more about the admissions process, study programmes and aspects of student life. Over the course of the four-hour event, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University was visited by over a thousand prospective students and their parents.
The event began at 11 a.m. with a welcome address by the university’s rector, Ruslan Biloskurskyi. In his speech, he emphasised the importance of quality education, youth development, support for student initiatives, and the role of the university in modern society, and expressed his gratitude to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for defending Ukraine.
Considerable attention was paid to the work of the Admissions Committee, which provided explanations regarding the 2026 admissions campaign, the necessary documents and application deadlines.
Following the official proceedings, the programme for the event was presented to the guests. Deans of the faculties and directors of the academic and research institutes briefed those present on the study programmes, admission requirements, opportunities for international academic mobility, the specifics of practical training, and employment prospects for graduates.
During the event, presentations by the faculties and educational and research institutes were organised at various locations across the university:
In the Shevchenko Hall, presented their educational programmes the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Pedagogy, Psychology and Social Work, the Faculty of Foreign Languages, and the Institute of Physical, Technical and Computer Sciences.
In the Red Hall, presentations were held by the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations, the Faculty of Geography, the Faculty of Philology and the Faculty of Law. They highlighted their achievements and promising areas of work.
In Lecture room 234, presentations were given by the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, the Faculty of Physical Education, Sport and Rehabilitation, the Faculty of Architecture, Construction and Decorative and Applied Arts, and the Institute of Biology, Chemistry and Bioresources. Representatives spoke about key aspects of their activities, current challenges and opportunities for development.
The day proved to be both informative and inspiring, both for prospective students wishing to study at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University and for their parents, who are committed to securing a bright future for their children.
