On September 25, in the office of the rector of the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, a meeting of Rector Ruslan Biloskursky with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Ukraine Robert Muller was held. The conversation was also attended by Honorary Consul of Austria in Chernivtsi Lyudmila Osachuk, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, International and Humanitarian Activities Iryna Osovska, Head of the International Relations Department Serhiy Lukanyuk, and Associate Professor of the Department of German Philology and Translation Larysa Oleksyshyna. This meeting became an important part of the program of the large-scale International Expert Forum “Ukrainian Diplomacy in War and Post-Conflict Conditions,” which was hosted by the university on the same day.
The Red Hall of the university hosted a large-scale International Expert Forum “Ukrainian Diplomacy in War and Post-Conflict Conditions". The event, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Center for Strategic Communications “Ukraine-XXI” of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations of the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, brought together diplomats, leading scholars, international experts and representatives of non-governmental organizations from Ukraine and foreign countries.
The participants of this event were welcomed by the Rector of the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University Ruslan Biloskursky, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleksandr Mishchenko, Head of the Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration Ruslan Zaparaniuk, Acting Chairman of the Chernivtsi Regional Council Mykola Huytor, Director of the Department of Socio-Economic Development and Strategic Planning of the Chernivtsi City Council Serhiy Bostan, Ambassadors of Austria (Robert Muller), Romania (Alexandru Victor Mikula), the Republic of Moldova (Valeriu Kiver) to Ukraine, Ambassadors of Ukraine to Romania (Ihor Prokopchuk), the Republic of Moldova (Paun Rogovei), the Republic of Bulgaria (Olesya Ilashchuk), and the Republic of the Philippines (Yulia Fediv).
The program included two panel discussions:
- The first panel discussion was dedicated to Ukraine’s struggle for geopolitical subjectivity. Speakers included Hryhoriy Perepelytsia on the topic “Diplomacy as a Continuation of War or Achieving Peace: The Dilemma of Ukrainian Choice” and Ihor Polishchuk, who examined the significance of Donbas and Crimea in the context of the formation of a new geopolitical subjectivity of Ukraine.
- The second panel discussion focused on Foreign Policy Strategies and Possible Solutions in the “Lublin” and “Odessa” Triangles. The reports were presented by Bohdan Hud (on the “Lublin Triangle”) and Lyubov Melnychuk (on the “Odessa Triangle”).
The event was moderated by the coordinators of the Center for Strategic Communications “Ukraine-XXI” of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations of the Yuriy Fedkovych National University of Chernivtsi, Volodymyr Fisanov and Ivan Osadtsa.
