“We should consider every day lost that we have not danced at least once,” wrote Friedrich Nietzsche. It was dance on October 21 that united students of the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University during the competition Geld each year “Catch the Rhythm – 2025”. Six teams — five faculties and one institute — presented the audience with a real rhythm celebration, drive and student energy.
The following took part in the competition:
“EtnoFayni” — Faculty of Pedagogy, Psychology and Social Work (captain Nadia Karpyuk).
“Quantum Bandits” — Educational and Scientific Institute of Physical, Technical and Computer Sciences.
“Valkyries” — Faculty of Philology (captain Margarita Bondar).
“Ekavanada” — Faculty of Economics (captain Anna Sklyar).
“SHABASH” — Faculty of Foreign Languages (captain Olga Chevela).
"Lawyers" - Faculty of Law (captain Oleksandra Danelyuk).
The teams presented two programs - prepared flash mobs and improvisational performances in two styles: folk and modern dance.
The jury included:
Ivan Velychko - blogger, showman, owner of the Move On dance school, children's camps MoveONcamp and iKids, holiday agency "Corporation of Happiness".
Volodymyr Dolhyi - head of the folk dance ensemble "Koloryt", teacher at the Chernivtsi College of Arts named after S. Vorobkevych, artist of the ensemble named after A. Kushnirenko.
Olga Galak - choreographer-balletmaster, laureate of the Yu. Fedkovych Prize in 2025, head of the ensemble "Neogalaktyka".
Teodorescu Alexandra is a street dance and hip-hop trainer with over 15 years of experience, a participant in World of Dance Romania 2023.
Marina Saliho is a trainer at the Tendance dance and fitness studio, whose students are winners of all-Ukrainian competitions.
Competition results:
1st place — “EtnoFayni” (Faculty of Pedagogy, Psychology and Social Work);
2nd place — “Lawyers” (Faculty of Law);
3rd place — “Ekavanada” (Faculty of Economics).
The teams received valuable prizes from the university partners, and the audience received vivid impressions and an atmosphere of unity. The organizers thanked the Department of Youth and Sports of the Chernivtsi OVA, the Chernivtsi Regional Music and Drama Theater, the I. Mykolaychuk Film Center, the Trade Union Organization of Students of the Chernivtsi National University, the Student Parliament, the Honcharenko Center of Chernivtsi, and the Communicative Language Academy (CLA) for supporting the event.
Like all events of the Center for Culture and Leisure of the Chernivtsi National University, “Catch the Rhythm” had a charitable purpose. The funds from the teams’ participation were directed to the EcoFlow fundraiser for Lieutenant of the 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade and employee of the Chernivtsi National University Yuriy Romaniv.
