A student of ChNU won a prize in the competition of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine

Oleksandr Shevchuk, a master's student of the Department of Private Law of the Faculty of Law of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, won the third place in the Competition of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine for the best scientific article on the protection of human rights. Students and young scientists from leading institutions of higher education of Ukraine took part in the competition.

The winners were announced on June 26 in Kyiv during the Solemn Academy "Ukrainian Constitutionalism in the XXI Century: Constitutional Development, Trials of War, Challenges of Integration", which was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Ukraine. The event brought together representatives of state authorities, constitutional justice and the international legal community.

In his scientific work, Oleksandr Shevchuk investigated the legal nature of the response acts of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights as one of the instruments of parliamentary control. The author proposed a new approach to understanding the obligation to take into account such acts, determined their classification according to their legal nature, functional purpose and targeting, and also outlined the requirements for the meaningful justification of responses to them. The researcher paid special attention to proposals for improving the legislation and proposed his own interpretation of the concept of "position of the Commissioner". In the near future, the article will be published in one of the leading professional scientific publications of Ukraine.

The University congratulates Oleksandr Shevchuk on his significant scientific achievement and thanks the scientific supervisor, Professor Nina Getmantseva, for training the young researcher.
