A delegation from Chernivtsi National University at the final conference of the TURBO project

On 19–20 October, a delegation from Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University took part in an educational programme and attended the final international conference entitled "Higher Education Under Extreme Conditions: Lessons Learnt from Wartime Ukraine". The delegation comprised coordinators, lecturers from the Faculty of Economics, and Iryna Osovska, Vice-Rector for Academic and Pedagogical Work, International and Humanitarian Activities.

How can universities continue to operate and maintain the quality of education during wartime? These very questions formed the basis of the discussions on the first day of the conference. Participants discussed the resilience of Ukrainian universities, international academic solidarity and innovative educational practices; they shared experiences and developed solutions for the development of higher education in the face of crisis-related challenges.

The Faculty of Economics contributed to the TURBO project through two editions of the programme "Integrated Development: From Adaptation to Entrepreneurship". It brought together internally displaced persons seeking to develop professional skills, find new opportunities and bring their own entrepreneurial ideas to life.

The curriculum covered the economic and legal foundations of entrepreneurship, modern management techniques, practical tools for starting and running a business, as well as the development of key soft skills. Lecturers from the Faculty of Economics and guest business trainers combined theoretical training with practical case studies and real-world experience, helping participants to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, formulate their own business ideas and find ways to bring them to fruition.

Participation in the programme provided participants with an opportunity to gain new knowledge, realise their potential and move more confidently towards their professional goals. Thanks to the support of the lecturers and the practical training, the university has helped internally displaced persons to adapt, develop their economic independence and bring their entrepreneurial ideas to fruition.

The project is being implemented with the support of the European Union under the ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CBHE programme, Grant Agreement No. 101129315
