Student Trade Union is an officially registered organization, the main purpose of which is to represent, exercise and protect the socio-economic rights and interests of student members of the organization.

Our organization was created on November 1, 1972 by separating the student and teaching trade unions.

Being a member of the Trade Union, you have the opportunity to use all the benefits of membership and be a member of a large team of activists.

You can become an activist of the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University by filling out the registration form.

The organization consists of 2 commissions: informational and organizational mass work and sports, as well as 5 divisions: student space "Campus", student film club "Cinema CHNU", University Career Centre, Student Media Centre (student newspaper "NewFormaty", student television "PROFline", team of photographers "ProFlash"), volunteer movement "Krok nazustrich" (Step towards).

The representative of the Student Trade Union of CHNU students in the academic group is the professional (trade) union organizer of the group – profgruporg/proforg.

Proforg is elected to manage the work of a Trade Union group. The report and elections of the Trade Union are held at the general meeting of Trade Union members at the level of the academic group.

To assist the proforg, the Trade Union may elect from among its members, by open vote, deputies of the Trade Union in various areas of activity, who conduct their work under the leadership of the Trade Union.

The number of Trade Union activists of the group, who are chosen to help the Trade Union group, is determined based on the specific conditions of the Trade Union group's work and their practical necessity.

Proforg, with the help of trade union activists, involves students of the group in active participation in Trade Union, educational, public activities, and carries out the following work:

  • attends weekly meetings of proforgs chaired by the (deputy) head of the Student Professional Bureau of faculty/institute Student Professional Bureau;
  • informs the students of his/her group about the information received at the meeting;
  • informs at meetings about complaints, problems and proposals of students of the group;
  • explains to students the goals and objectives of the Trade Union, the rights, duties and benefits of Trade Union members, informs about changes and additions to legislative and regulatory documents regarding student problems;
  • monitors the Union registration of Union members, follows the norms of the academic load, represents the interests of the group at the meetings of the student union organization of the faculty/institute (Professional Bureau of the faculty/institute), makes proposals regarding the activity plan of the Union organization of the faculty and the Union organization of the university;
  • keeps records of the financial situation of members of the Trade Union group, submits proposals to the Students Professional Bureau of their faculty/institute regarding the receipt of material assistance by low-income members of the Trade Union;
  • organizes educational, cultural and sports work among the group's Trade Union members;
  • carries out the assignment of the head of the Trade Union office to organize trade union and other cultural and mass work (organization of holidays, Faculty Days, sports and intellectual competitions, parties, charity events, etc.).

Proforg conducts his/her work under the leadership of the head of the Student Trade Union of the faculty/institute (Student Professional Bureau).

In accordance with Appendix 1.2 "Rules for the appointment and payment of scholarships at the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University", proforgs can benefit from their membership by getting 7 additional points to the scholarship rating.
